Alert police from Hebbal caught a man from Bihar and recovered a countrymade pistol and six live cartridges which he brought from home town to sell it in city .
Senior officer told reporters,The accused was caught while he along with a juvenile was moving suspiciously on railway track near Pillekamma temple.
PSI,Shivu Jogannawar and staff who was on rounds noticed the man moving suspiciously with a bag and noticing the police he tried to escape .
The police alerted the control room and as soon as the information was passed PI,Dileep Kumar and other staff rushed to spot and gave a hot chase and pinned them down and while questioning the team found a bag in their possession.
The team checked the bag and found containing the weapon and six rounds .
The team took him into custody and during investigation he confessed the crime and the accused confessed that he sourced the weapon from his hometown for a throwaway price and came to city to sell and make big profit.
However the police suspect that he is part of the gun running racket and taken him into custody to ascertain his criminal background while the juvenile was remanded to state home for boys and further investigation is on to ascertain their background.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil,DCP North,Vinayak Patil,ACP,Smt Reena Suvarna,PI,Dileep Kumar KH,PSI,Shivu R Jogganavar,and crime staff as,Mahesh, Rajashekhar,Munnegowda,and other crime staff has been appreciated for their excellent work in nabbing the gun runner and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
