HSR layout traffic cop in dock for stopping Vehicle unnecessary with body worn camera turned off violating State Police Chief orders
A traffic head constable attached to HSR Layout station in the dock for conducting ransom vehicle checks in Bellandur violating the order of the state police chief .
A concerned Motorist identified as Rahul Poojary, clicked the pictures of the policeman in action and posted it on the police social media account tagging DG-IGP and City Police Commissioner,Joint CP Traffic,with a message stating that the vehicles are being stopped by the policeman even though there is no violations.
Taking a serious note on this,City Police Commissioner,Pratap Reddy,directed the Joint commissioner of traffic to look into the issue as the policeman in question was wearing body worn camera .
An Inquiry was initiated by DCP traffic east,found that though the head constable was wearing the body camera,the camera was on off mode and prima facie it is evident that he was violating the order of the state police head.
A departmental action has been initiated against him and it is reiterated that no one will be stopped for document verification unless there is visible violation,Dr B R Ravikanthe Gowda,Joint Commissioner of Police, (Traffic),said .
It may be recalled that the Mr.Sood had directed the police,SPs of all districts to not to stop any vehicles for random checks which may lead to traffic congestion.The rule is not applicable for carrying special drives,he said in his order.
