t was a unique and special day at the office of the Deputy commissioner of police,Southeast, when 13 year old Mithilesh and Mohammed salman khan clad in police uniform walked into the office and received salutes from the staff and followed by introduction.
The duo walked into the office sat their by passing directions on walkie talkie for sometime before getting briefing about the development in the area from the Officials .
Mitilesh is a student at the Bommanahalli government school and is battling acute lymphocytic leukaemia,a type of blood and bone narrow cancer that affects white blood cells, while Salman,a native of Kottayam in Kerala, is being treated for thalassemia,an inherited blood disorder that causes your body to have less haemoglobin than normal.
The event was part of the Make A Wish Foundation to fullfill the wishes of two boys studying in high school in city and getting treatment for their life threatening illnesses (cancer).
As part of this initiative,the boys who wish to be IPS officers will be role playing as DCP of Southeast division at the Koramangala office,CK Baba,DCP,Southeast division,said.
As part of the program,Salman and Mithilesh got the briefing about the activities and excercise and even visited the police station as part of the DCP’s routine work .
At the station the,staff enacted and presented a domestic violence case which the two boys heard the complaint and issued necessary directions.
While Salman shared their dream job of becoming a police officer as it is a noble profession which can provide solace to many people in distress.
Mithilesh was more interested in traffic management and road discipline.
The two boys shared lunch with the police staff and given goodies by the police officials as memontos.
It was a great feeling to make their dream come true and being part of their come true,Mr.Baba, said .
wrote, “A humbling day as I stood in attention to DCPs for the day. Courageous children, who are fighting a difficult disease and we played a small part in making their wish come true, albeit for a few hours only.Happiness unlimited for them and satisfaction for us.
Some children want a laptop,others wish to meet a celebrity or would want to visit some place,” Arun Kumar,in-charge of the NGO’s Bengaluru branch, told reporters.The NGO says it has so far fulfilled wishes of 77,358 children.
Finally Chief Minister of Karnataka,Basavaraj Bommai,Home Minister of Karnataka,Araga Jnanendra,DG-IGP,Praveen Sood,Commissioner of Police,C H Pratap Reddy,Addl CP East,A subramanyeshwara Rao has appreciated,DCP Southeast,CK Baba for making all the arrangements to fulfill the wish of two students whose dream was to become IPS officer as a people friendly police officer who shared their wish as dream of becoming IPS officer and was fulfilled by DCP Southeast,CK Baba for his Excellent idea to fulfill the wish of students he added.
