The Channammanakere Acchukattu police on Sunday arrested a 29-year-old private firm employee for killing his 75-year-old house owner to rob her valuables and clear his debts.
The accused has been identified as,Jaikishan.
Senior officer told reporters,to crack the murder special teams were formed under the supervision and leadership of ACP,BL Srinivasmurthy a team headed by PI, Janardhan P R,and his team swung into action.
The team visited the crime scene and got some vital information about the incident and after getting information a person who is a tenant of same building turned as witness in the case to look after all developments and used to be behind the cops.
During investigation the accused after the murder became the witness and moving around with the police on the pretext of assisting them for the investigations.
However,the police while checking the background of the tenants during the course of investigations zeroed in on Jaikishan and arrested him.
During investigation the team grilled Jaikishan who spilled the beans and it revealed that he had borrowed loan from the deceased Yashodhamma,invested the money and incurred huge loss in online trading business .
Yashodhamma started pestering him to return the money,but the accused had a huge loan borrowed from other sources .
Then the accused decided to eliminate Yashodhamma and as per the plan stabbed her repeatedly while she was alone at her house situated in ground floor at Vinayaka nagar and robbed her valuables on July 2.
Yashodhamma owned a three storeyed house and living alone at the ground floor while renting out other portions of the house to many people . Yashodhamma had a son but staying in the adjacent area with his family.
The accused noticed Yashodhamma was alone and having lots of money and jewels decided to kill her to rob her valuables to repay the loan and get rid of loan she had borrowed from her,he added.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil,DCP South,P Krishnakant,ACP,BL Srinivasmurthy,PIs,Janardhan P R,Rakshith,PSIs,as,Madhu K,Manoj Kumar DS, Shivashankar,Praveen Husur,Mahesh Kudhri,Maruthi G,and crime staff as,Rajanna,Ravi R,Nagaraj Nayak,Mallikarjun,Shivamurthy,Sridhar,Siddappa,Nagaraj,Dharnesh,Lokesh,Hanumareddy, Veerendra,Srilal Patel,Puttegowda,Gururaj Kumbhar,Parameshwar Nadur,Yellappa,Peerappa,Amaresh, Hanumanth Talwar,and Santhosh has been appreciated for the exemplary and meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing the murder accused who robbed his landlord to clear his debts is now cooling his heels in jail a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
