Radicalised youth from Assam arrested in Bengaluru remanded to 10 days CCB police custody by NIA Special court : CoP C H Pratap Reddy

n a joint operation by Bengaluru CCB police and central agencies has arrested a radicalised youth Akhtar Hussain from Tilaknagar area of Bengaluru last night.

Akhtar Hussain is resident of Assam.He was staying with some youths who were working as a food delivery boys.

C H Pratap Reddy, Commissioner of Police,told media persons,Four special teams of CCB have been formed who are working with the central agencies to track down the network and activities of Akhtar Hussain,a 23-year-old terror suspect arrested in a joint operation at his rented house in Tilaknagar on Sunday night .

Hussain,was produced before the NIA special court and taken into custody while four teams of police dispatched in different directions to work on the information availed through the interrogation.

Akhtar,high school drop out and hailed from a poor family,stayed in a rented house with four friends and working as food delivery executive since one year.

He was constantly in touch with the terror outfits through his social media accounts from where he was tracked down by the central agencies.

It was suspected that Akhtar working as delivery executive could be for a reason and to know the topography of the city and its routes .

The police are now checking his local contacts and the people with whom he was in regular touch.

Police suspect that Akhar wanted to get recruited into the terror outfit and used to sleeper cell and to execute subversive activities .

The police suspect that Akhtar had visited many places in the city and suspected that he had some plan.

He was in touch with people in the neighbouring state and a team is working on it to track down his contacts.

Sources said he used to work as delivery boy only in night shift.He has visited in and around Vidhana Soudha and other five star hotels regularly.

Akhtar is radicalized and working with a terror outfit.He was arrested based on intelligence inputs and coordination with the central agencies and there are ample evidence against him to prove it he added.
