ity police Commissioner ordered probe into the lapses on part of the intelligence gathering which led to the security break and violent protest at Home Minister’s residence on Saturday.

They also sought a ban on Popular Front of India and its allied outfits, which they alleged were behind the killing of Hindutva activists and their growing influence in the state especially in the coastal districts bordering Kerala.

The protesters barged into the gate, created ruckus by breaking the flower pots and kicking the locked door while the residential guards an regular security staff were present .

Soon the security staff swung into action and detained the protestors to bring the situation under control .

But it was failure on part of the intelligence which needed a detailed probe to ascertain lapses on part of the officials to gathered intelligence,a senior police officer said .

Meanwhile City police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy said that probe has been ordered and based on the finding action will be taken.

The protestors had sought permission for silent protest to submit a memorandum, but suddenly they have become violent and barged into the residence which according to a senior police officer amount to intelligence failure.

The intellience department would have gathered information after the state wide protest following three murders including the murder of BJP worker Praveen Nettaru reported in the last one week .

The intelligence department should have gathered intelligence inputs which would have helped the police to take up security measures .

However in this case there seems to be lapse on the part of the intelligence wing, the official added.

Security has been stepped up at the minister;s residence across the city following the incident and all the DCPs have been instructed to supervise the security measures .

At the Home Minister residence security audit has been done by the DCP and as many as 50 police personnel have been deployed.

The police have set up Nakabandi and checking vehicles to prevent further damage.

After the incident took place high alert sounded across city and security tightened at all the minister’s house and picket points set up across city.

After a detailed investigation by DCP,North,Vinayak Patil who submitted a preliminary report to commissioner of police about the incident and it was found lapse in security by police personnel of JC Nagar Police Station PSI Rajesab and Head Constable Srinivas Murthy have been suspended for dereliction of duty.

JC Nagar police station inspector has been transferred and this post is currently vacant.PSI Rajesab was given the responsibility of the station officer in charge.

However, as they did not go to the place quickly, the protest became intense. The suspension was taken seriously by senior officers.

Meanwhile it is said that CM Basavaraj Bommai is unhappy with senior police officers and intelligence department who failed to collect information about the protest.
