The Byatarayanapura traffic police on Monday booked driver of senior officer of BBMP for involved in a minor accident in an inebriated state.
Senior officer told reporters,The accused Shivashankar,52,was returning home after reportedly dropping the officer home late in the night when the accident occurred at RR Nagar gate .
The accused drove in rash and negligent manner collided with a car coming from opposite directions.
The police rushed to the spot and detained the driver subjected him to alcometer test to confirm that he was under the influence of alcohol.
The police seized the car and slapped a fine fine for which the driver on Tuesday appeared before the traffic court paid the fine to get the vehicle released.
The driver of the damaged car however did not filed any complaint,a police officer,said.
