They must not not forget that they are participating in the sports events for themselves and to win the medals for the country and leave rest to the government.We are working in enthusiasm according to your achievements.
Basketball is state’s sport
The CM said Karnataka is the first state to implement the ‘Kreeda Dattu’ scheme and to improve the sports stadium.They are adopting the basketball as the state sport.
The rural sports meet will be started within two months to identify talents.
Our government is giving utmost importance to the sports and for the welfare of sportspersons. “You play game bravely without worry.
The government is with you.We will take care of your security from all the angles”.
“Play to win”
The CM said sportsmanship is very important as it will help to develop discipline,patience and strength to achieve more and more.
It will help to imbibe discipline and character, and strength to think correct.Honesty and complete dedication are most important for the sportspersons and then only it will be possible achieve success in life.Always play to win and don’t play to lose. Always aim for victory, he noted.
Full confidence on state sportspersons
Bommai said there were many sportspersons belonging to different fields like olympians,Asian and Commonwealth participants,swimmers and basketball, hockey and other games.
Their performance was inspiration for them.The medal winners must inspire others.They were calling the sportspersons as they must become the source of inspiration for those who are undergoing training.
We have a full confidence on the ability of our sportspersons and a little encouragement will yield the desired results.
With this confidence, the Kreeda Dattu scheme has been formulated.First you decide what you wanted to do before the government says what it wants you to do.
The government has given certain facilities. Hitherto,there was no such schemes.We have identified your talent so that you will achieve in sports”.
Play for country, win medals
Bommai said Don’t pursue sports just for the sake of job but to play for the country and to win medals.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said ‘Khelo India’.First you learn to play and then ‘Jito India’. Keep this in your mind always.
