Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:The initiative of the state government especially Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to make citizen services smoother has been appreciated at international level as well. This time four of his brainchild projects took away the title of the best at the national level. In a competition organized by a private news agency, the first prize (Awards) went to the projects of Bengal. In the coming days these can become a ‘model’ for other states of the country. The organizers gave the award to Bengal.

The first i.e. ‘Door Relief’ project won the award in the ‘Analytics’ category. The awardees said that in coordination with various departments in dealing with natural calamities and its aftermath, public services have been delivered efficiently through GPS in the state. A total of 3.8 lakh people have benefited from this scheme. Prominent circles are seeing the possibility of this project becoming a model of relief distribution in the country in the coming days.The ‘DuareSarkaer’ (DuareSarkaer) project has been widely acclaimed since its inception. This service has repeatedly set records. Many people got quick solution from government camp in Duare. It is said that 5 crore 50 people have benefited from this. This popular project won the best award in the ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI) category.Revenue collection from e-excise scheme has increased every year. According to calculations, the amount of revenue collected from the Excise Department in the financial year 2014-15 was Tk 3581 crore. And in the financial year 2021-22, it has increased to 13,543 crores. The way this project has brought services to the doorsteps of common people is commendable. E-Excise or State Excise Supply Chain Management received the award in the ‘Block Chain’ category.
