Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:The Women Trinamool Congress is going to hit the streets to protest several incidents including rampant price hike of daily necessities and the release of BilkisBano’s rapists across the country. Mahil Trinamool Congress has called for a march from Birla Planetarium to Gandhimurti on August 25 and 26. The procession will be led by state minister and Trinamool Women a Congress leader Chandrima Bhattacharya, Dr. Shashi Panja, MP Dr. KakaliGhosdastidar and Mala Roy.State Women Trinamool Congress leaders will also participate in the procession. It has been informed by the organization that the members of 35 organizations of Women Trinamul Congress across the state will participate in this protest. On the recent Independence Day, the Gujarat government decided to release 11 people convicted in the BilkisBano case. The Trinamool Congress raised the tone against the BJP government in protest. The Trinamool Congress strongly condemned the incident and raised questions about the protection of women.Earlier, the Trinamool had moved against the central government to protest the price hike. Mahila Trinamool Congress has decided to go on the road to protest against all this. A case has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the decision to release BilkisBano’s rapists.The Chief Justice said that consideration would be given to include the case for hearing. There has already been a storm of protest against this hateful politics of the BJP across the country. The Trinamool Mahila Congress has already protested the release of BilkisBano’s rapists. However, apart from these protests, there will be a protest march in the heart of the city to oppose the anti-people policies of the Centre. Voices will be raised from the march against the increase in the price of daily necessities to the downsizing.All in all, it goes without saying that the streets of Kolkata will be filled with women’s protests for the next two days.
