Two conmen booked for cheating BJP party worker promising award from Governor of Karnataka

The Central Crime Branch officials have set a massive manhunt for two conmen who cheated a city based social activist and BJP party worker promising award from the Governor of Karnataka .

The accused identified as Gyan Prakash,50,and Giridhar Jha,37 claiming to be from Indian Journalist Compendium were introduced to social activist with K R Venkatesh,from Peenya, offered to get him award from Governor on the occasion of 75th Independence Day.

Excited by this Venkatesh agreed for which the duo asked him to pay donation of Rs.1 lakh to their association.

The accused had even taken Venkatesh to the Governor’s house to discuss about the award on August 16.

However Venkatesh realized that it was a casual visit. The accused have even issued him a fake certificate and escaped with the cash.

The cheating came to light when Venkatesh discussed about his award to his friends and realized that he had been cheated .

He filed a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha police on August 16 which was referred to CCB for a detailed probe .
