Heavy to heavy rains in Bengaluru,Rescue operation launched in Southeast and Whitefield Division over,200 Fire & Emergency Personnel,10 boats,24 fire tenders in action

As many as 24 fire tenders,200 fire and emergency personnel and 10 boats have been pressed into service for rescue operations launched in Southeast,and whitefield division since Sunday night.

The rescue teams have been given the task of dewatering the areas and roads to bring normalcy,Hemanth Kumar K,District Fire officer, south fire station,told reporters.

Many low lying areas including the Kanterava indoor stadium and chief fire station office at High grounds,MS building and other government buildings were flooded and fire tenders were pressed in action for rescue operation .

The worst affected areas including Domlur, Bellanduru,Koramangala,HSR Layout,Sarjapura, Marathahalli,HAL,many apartments like greenwood apartment,rainbow apartments, Yamaluru,Hosur road and Nalluruhalli and residential localities have been flooded and people are stranded .

Many teams are working in shifts to pump out water and getting the stranded people out using the boats,Mr.Kumar,said .

The teams are pumping water into storm water drains and water level since Sunday night have receded considerably,another fire officer,added.

The situation in the affected area is going to be bad as it takes some more days for the normalcy, he added.

Meanwhile the traffic police have deployed men at the Sarjapura ecospace junctions to manage the traffic and diverting them to the adjacent roads.

We have advising people not to venture out to avoid any eventuality,like drowning and electrocution,a police officer,said .
