Physiotherapy Department of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital celebrated World Physiotherapy Day by organizing Patient’s Awareness Programme on 7th September 2022.
Theme designated by World Physiotherapy Association for this year is osteoarthritis and the role of physiotherapists in its prevention and in the management of people affected by this condition.
Posters explaining osteoarthritis and its prevention and treatment were displayed outside the OPD and special camp was organized. According to Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, HOD, Physiotherapy, more than 80 patients of all ages were assessed, diagnosed and treated. They were made aware about symptoms, causes and treatment of osteoarthritis of various joints. Home-based exercise protocols, do’s and don’t and preventive measures were advised.
In addition to this, workshops for osteoarthritis awareness will be also be organized in Police Headquarters and wellness centres across Delhi on different dates in different districts, which will benefit the employees of the police department.
