Hyderabad: The death toll in the massive fire incident at the Ruby Hotel in Secunderabad has reached eight. While seven people have already died, another person died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Residents of AP are among the dead and injured. Those injured in the accident are being treated at Apollo and Yashoda hospitals.

How did it happen?
The fire broke out in a five-storied building named Ruby Luxury Pride near Secunderabad Passport Office on Monday night. The showroom of Ruby Electric vehicles is running in the basement and ground floors of the building. A hotel is being maintained on the remaining four floors. The fire broke out on the ground floor around 9.40 pm. The staff says that these came with an electrical short circuit. The batteries of the electric vehicles in the showroom exploded due to the heat. Due to this, the fire increased. As it spread to the vehicles, it blew up in large numbers. Spread to the upper floors through the staircase. In addition to this, thick smoke due to vehicles and batteries. Seven tourists who were staying in the lodge died of suffocation. Another recently died.

Additional DG of Fire Department Sanjay Kumar responded to this accident. Eight people died due to smoke. GHMC has sanctioned only 4 storey construction for Ruby Pride building. But in addition another floor was built. Only parking should be done in the cellar. Electric vehicles are being sold in this building. There are sprinklers in the lodge. They open only when there is a fire. In this accident, they did not work as the fire was too much. There is only one entrance and exit. Due to this, no one could come out when the accident happened,” he said.
Condolences of Minister KTR.. Exgratia of Rs.3 lakhs
On behalf of the Telangana government, Minister KTR expressed deep condolences over the fire. It has been announced that an exgratia of Rs.3 lakh will be provided to those who died in this accident. He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.
Actions against building owner: Mahmood Ali
State Home Minister Mahmood Ali expressed grief over this incident. “The fire spread in the battery bike in the cellar. After the accident, thick smoke spread all over the building and the severity of the accident increased. He lost his life due to smoke suffocation. No commercial business should be done in the cellar.. but the owner allowed it. Legal action will be taken against the building owner. We will provide an exgratia of Rs.3 lakh to the families of the deceased from the government. Mahmood Ali said that we are providing better medical services to the injured.
PM Modi is shocked
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed shock over the fire incident. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each was announced for the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand each for the injured. He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.
