I n a swift action, the Sheshadripuram police have arrested a gang of five persons who hacked a 34-year-old gujri owner to death in a broad day light on Wednesday morning.
The accused have been identified as Sharath Kumar,Ajith Kumar,Satya,Sharan and John from JC nagar and sri Rampura.
Senior officer said that the deceased identified as Ganesh Raj,was returning home on his scooter after dropping his children to school.
The accused intercepted him near Nataraja theatre and attacked him with lethal weapons and fled the scene.
Passers-by rushed the profusely bleeding Ganesh to a hospital where he succumbed little later.
The Sheshadripuram police swung into action and track down the accused near Kolar border within 24 hours of the murder.
Investigations revealed that the Ganesh Raj and his team had worked as as volunteers during Covid lock down in 2020 distributed essentials from BBMP to the people .
Ganesh used to fight with his rivals over this issue and they have filed a complaint of attempt to and counter complaint with the police .
Based on the complaint,the police had arrested the accused and remanded them to judicial custody.
Enraged by this,the accused after coming out on bail ganged up and stalked him for few days before he was attacked to take revenge against him, a senior police officer, said .
The accused have now been booked under murder and remanded to judicial custody.
