Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has taken many initiatives to make common people self-reliant. This time it was reflected in the center’s report. West Bengal ranks No. 1 amongst all states in India in formation of self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of the state, is excited about this report.The Chief Minister said, “With a total of 10 lakh 4 thousand self-help groups, I am very happy to share that West Bengal has secured the No. 1 position among all states in India in formation of self-help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission.” He congratulated all those associated with self-help groups.Today, millions of women are engaged in various activities and have become self-reliant. These women are now working in multiple places along with men. It is seen that some products are being exported to the country and abroad.Mamata Banerjeetold:- Extremely delighted to share that with a total of 10.04L SHGs, West Bengal has achieved No.1 rank among all the states in India in the formation of Self Help Groups under National Rural Livelihood Mission.
