The Southeast Division cyber crime police have arrested a man from Dharwad who had cheated a insurance company and created 225 insurance policies by manipulating the records .
The accused Irfan Sheikh,was caught based on a complaint filed by the associate director of company after they came across many insurance claims .
Based on the complaint the police track down the accused and taken him into custody for further investigations.
CK Baba,DCP,Southeast division said that Irfan , who is a insurance agent aware of the loopholes on the online insurance application process and misusing the loopholes got as many as 225 vehicle insurance policies for vehicle owners for throwaway prices .
The accused would charge Rs.300 for every insurance he would get and suspected that he was made as much as 2 lakh such policies across the india.
This has not only incurred loss to the vehicle owners,who lost their claims, but also to the company and its reputations.
The accused aware of the technical loopholes would manipulate the details of the insurance according to the convenience of the vehicle owners.
The policies the vehicles owners would use in the RTOs to register their vehicles and also applied with the company to make claims.
Mr.Baba,advised the vehicle owners to be careful while getting the insurance and check the credentials of the agent or the company without fail.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner CH Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP East A Subramanyeshwara Rao DCP Southeast CK Baba,ACP, Lakshminarayan CK,PI, Yogesh ST,PSIs,as,Nagesh GN,ST Rabakavi,Crime staff as,Muniraju,Lakshman Pawar, Pandurangaiah,were successful in tracking the accused with their timely action the culprit was arrested and for their excellent work a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
