New policy to open closed schools at West Bengal

Abhijit Ray, Kolkata: The West Bengal state government is looking to formulate a new policy to reopen schools that have been closed for various reasons, including the reason of lack of students. Education Minister  said this in the question and answer session of the Legislative Assembly. He said, the government will bring a new policy to open the closed schools. Many have said that various schools are closing. The Education Department is investigating it. The reason for the closure of the school is being investigated.He has informed that a report has been sought from local legislators and district magistrates about the schools which are closed. When that report comes it will be submitted to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. There are plans to form clusters with schools that have low student numbers. According to education department sources, the condition of Bengali medium schools is not good now. Even the once famous schools are now dying due to lack of students.Meanwhile, in the question-and-answer session, talking about the appointment in the education sector, the education minister said that after 6 years, the appointment process has started as per the order of the court. Teachers will be appointed in accordance with the vacancies according to the specified rules. Recently, several schools have complained about the color of the clothes. Many people are not able to accept the change in the color of school students’ clothes. The BJP MLAs questioned whether the color of the clothes can be changed in the assembly today.In reply, he mentioned that Gujarat and Assam governments have already changed the color of clothes in their states.
