Visitors and the staff of the Kandaya Bhavan and Taluk offices in and around Bengaluru were caught by surprise by Lokayukta surprise inspections .
As many as 100 officials from Lokayukta deployed to carry out the inspections and formed into several teams led by Upa Lokayukta KN Phaneendra stormed DC office , Kandya Bhavan, and Taluk offices in and around the city .
The inspection was carried out in the wake of complaints from general public about inordinate delay in file clearance .
The officials checked the files and recorded the time to ascertain why the files were not cleared on stipulated time.
The officials also checked the status of various application and asked people about the service they have experienced.
The officials prepared a report about the inspections and on the status of the work and prepared a report on the future course of action.
Senior officials were not present as they have been deployed for official work in the wake of President visit .
The surprise check indicate that it is on the radar of the Lokayukta as even the ACB officials conducted inspections and even trapped a deputy Tahsildar and his assistant at Kandaya Bhavan while accepting.
Bribe in May this year The Deputy Registrar inquiries of the Lokayukta have been assigned to prepare a detailed report to be submitted to the Lokayukta for the future course of action.
