The RT Nagar police have detained a 60-year-old man for attempting to kill his 88-year-old ailing mother over property row on Thursday.
Based on the complaint filed by Lesley Gregori , care taker,the police have registered a case against the accused identified as John Dcruz charging him under section 354 ( assaults or uses criminal force to any woman, intending to outrage her modesty)and section 307 ( attempt to murder against him ).
The accused living with his mother identified as catherine Dcruz,88, at the house situated on 2nd block, 14th cross in RT Nagar.Catherine has four children including three sons.
While her eldest unmarried daughter was admitted to old age home,her two sons are in foreign country while she was leaving in her house with her son John Dcruz.
Lesley told the police that Catherine was ill and admitted to ST Johns for 17 days and discharged.She was taking care of Catherine and John was upset over this .
On Thursday John forced Lesley out of the house and pull out the her oxygen mask and shouting at her for not dying so that he could own the property.
Lesley told the police that Catherine has bequeath her house to John and he was upset that she is not dying a detailed investigation by the team will be done to ascertain the exact reason behind the Act.
