Kolkata Traffic Police took strict steps to avoid accidents. 34 thousand 689 people have been victims of traffic cases for the crime of breaking the law by visiting the mandap in Calcutta during Puja.According to the statistics given by the police (Durga Puja- Police), the biggest problem is car parking during the 5 days of Durga Puja. Kolkata Police said that 11 thousand 498 cases of violation of parking rules have been registered on 5 days of Puja. Around 7,500 cases of motorcycle riding without helmet have been registered. Kolkata Police registered 5775 speed violation cases in five days. Apart from this, cases of disobeying the traffic signal and stop line have also been filed against about two thousand.Due to the strict vigilance of the traffic department on various important roads including the EM bypass on the few days of Puja, it has been possible to prevent major road accidents except for one or two incidents. Similarly, the Kolkata Police and Municipal Corporation are working together to keep the Niranjan Parv of Durga Puja orderly and peaceful.
