Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:The state government has taken major steps to promote small and medium industries. Currently, Bengal is number two in the entire country in this industry. This time Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wants to take the state to number one in small industries. Because most employment is generated in these small and medium industries. The state’s opinion is that if this industry expands, it will bring a wave of employment in the heart of Bengal and will also strengthen the economy of Bengal.Keeping that goal in mind, the state government has set a record target of disbursing loans of Rs. Till December of the last financial year, the amount of this loan was about 70 thousand crores. Finance department sources said that credit lending will be increased by about 20 percent in the case of small and medium industries in the current financial year.Despite the Covid storm, loans to small scale industries were disbursed to the tune of about Tk 70,000 crore in the financial year 2021-22 till December last year. In the remaining three months of this financial year, there is another credit lending of 25 to 30 thousand crore rupees. In the financial year 2020-21 this figure was 87 thousand crore rupees and in the financial year 2019-20 there was a total credit lending of 70 thousand crore rupees. That is, credit lending to small and medium industries is increasing by about 20 percent in the current financial year.This credit lending will help small and medium industrial companies in expanding their scope of work. And if the scope of this work increases, new employment will be created. Millions of youth of Bengal will get work.
