In the voting held in the UN General Assembly, India voted to reject Russia’s demand.

Internet Desk: India voted against Russia’s demand in the UN General Assembly. Albania proposed a resolution condemning the annexation of Ukraine’s Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions to Russia. Recorded voting should be held on this. But Russia demanded a secret ballot on this resolution. However, 107 countries voted against Moscow’s demand. India is also among these. New Delhi voted in favor of a recorded ballot. Only 13 countries voted in favor of Russia. Another 39 countries abstained from voting. It is noteworthy that Russia and China are also present in these.

On the other hand, Russia requested the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to reconsider the acceptance of Albania’s resolution. However, the UNGA decided not to reconsider the adoption of the resolution. A total of 104 countries including India voted in favor of this, while 16 countries opposed it. Another 34 countries were absent. Russia’s Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia expressed his displeasure over these developments. He commented that UN membership has become a symbol of massive fraud. It is said that the person in the position of president is the key mastermind for this. “We were not given an opportunity to raise a point of order. “Member States have been robbed of their right to freely express their opinions,” said the Russian representative.

India was absent from the voting on the resolution presented by the United States and Albania in the UN Security Council last month, condemning the annexation of Ukraine’s Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions to Russia. This resolution was vetoed by Russia at that time. India has not yet made any statement criticizing Russia’s actions
