A 34-year-old cab driver was killed when a BMTC bus ran over him on old airport road on Tuesday night.
Senior officer told reporters,The deceased Mubarak Pasha,resident of Vinayaka Nagar was walking home from work at around 8.30 pm when the BMTC bus in a bid to overtake another bus lost control and ran over him after knocking down the pedestrian.
Passers-by rushed the profusely bleeding Pasha to a near-by hospital where he was declared dead.
The driver identified as Virat Murthy,47, abandoned the bus and escaped soon after the accident.
The Airport traffic police have registered a case and seized the bus for further investigations .
