hief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced a solatium of Rs.2 lakh to families of nine persons who died in a ghastly road accident near Arsikere in Hassan district in the early hours of Sunday.
Talking to reporters at Ambigrama Helipad in K.R.Pet taluk here on Sunday,he said instructions have been given to conduct the postmortem of the deceased and handover the bodies to family members.
Rains fury
The CM said several parts of the State are experiencing rains for the last three to four days and officials concerned have been asked to do long lasting permanent works and emergency works immediately.
The government will release the grants for the works. Several steps are taken regarding rains and deputy commissioners have been asked to be vigilant.
The problem in Mandya district is that almost all the tanks are filled and the deputy commissioner has been told to take necessary steps.
A sum of Rs.600 crore has been released to provide infrastructure and necessary grants will be made available for permanent works.
Bommai said a meeting of deputy commissioners and chief executive officers will be held tomorrow (Monday) where all the issues will be discussed in detail and suggest solutions.
