Senior leader Shashi Tharoor, who is in the presidential circle, made serious allegations about the election process.

Delhi: Shashi Tharoor, who contested as the presidential candidate of the Congress, made key allegations about the election process. He alleged that the presidential election was not conducted transparently and the most serious manipulations took place in Uttar Pradesh. To this extent, a letter written by Tharoor’s team to Congress Central Election Commission Chairman Madhusudan Mistry has come out recently.

On the one hand, while the counting was going on for the results of the presidential election, Tharoor’s writing this letter became a priority. Reliable sources revealed that this letter was written by Salman Soj, who is an election agent on behalf of Tharoor. “In some states mistakes were made during polling. Especially in Uttar Pradesh, extreme irregularities have taken place. We have tried many times to bring this to the notice of Mistry’s office. But no result. That’s why I had to write this letter. It is regrettable that there is a lack of credibility and integrity in the conduct of UP elections. He may not know that Kharge’s supporters committed irregularities in the election process in that state. If he had known, he would not have allowed it to happen. Ballot boxes are not officially sealed in that state. It has come to our attention that unauthorized persons are also present at the polling stations. If action is not taken against these irregularities, this election process will be free, How would that be fair? Therefore, we demand that all the votes in that state be treated as invalid,” said Tharoor’s team in the letter.

Tharoor’s response to the letter

However, after this internal letter was leaked to the media, Salman Soz responded on Twitter. “When we received a complaint from the UP team yesterday about irregularities in the elections, we wrote a letter to the party’s Election Commission (CEA). CEA has discussed this and promised to conduct a transparent investigation. After that we agreed to continue counting. Our team is waiting for the results,” he tweeted. Shashi Tharoor also responded to this tweet. “It is unfortunate that the letter written internally to the CEA was leaked to the media. Hope Salman’s explanation in this matter will put an end to the unnecessary controversy. This election is to strengthen Congress. And not to divide. Let’s move forward,” wrote Tharoor.

The counting of votes for the Congress presidential election began on Wednesday morning. The results are likely to be declared later in the afternoon. About 9500 PCC representatives exercised their right to vote in this election held on October 17. More than 1200 people voted from UP.
