Cab driver and two of his associates arrested for abducting and robbing private firm employee on pretext of offering drop recovered stolen valuables worth Rs.4.2 lakhs

The Kamakshipalya police on Wednesday arrested a 24-year-old cab driver and two of his associate for abducting and robbing a private firm employee on the pretext of offering him drop on March this year.

The victim,Ravikumar BN,39,resident of Hosakerahalli had visited his sister’s house and waiting at the bus stop to return home near Dr. Rajkumar memorial .

The accused approached him and offered drop. Since it was late Ravikumar agreed and got into the cab thinking that the two others already seated are passengers.

The accused soon drove the car in an isolated area in Summanahalli area and assaulted Ravikmar with a lunch bag he was carrying when he tried to object.

The trio robbed his gold chain,gold ring and snatched his wallet containing Rs.4,000.

The accused took Ravikumar to an ATM and forced him to withdraw Rs.26,000.

After taking him around the city for three hours the accused finally dumped him at Nagarabhavi at around 2.30 am and sped away.

Based on the complaint,the Kamakshipalya police took up the robbery case and analyzed over 100 CCTV footage to identify the accused.

The police recovered valuables worth Rs. 4.2 lakh from them and a car used to commit the offence.

The accused were involved in three criminal cases including two theft and a robbery case senior officer told reporters.
