In one of the major raid carried out in the recent past, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday arrested 35 teachers who were appointed illegally recruitment scam.
As many as 30 special teams carried out the raid simultaneously at 51 places across the state including in Kolar,Chikkaballapura,Bengaluru south,Chitradurga to arrest the teachers .
Among them 24 teachers from Kolar,five from Bengaluru south,three from Chikkaballapura and five from Chitradurga district efforts are on to track down others and will be arrested,a senior police officer,said .
The raid was carried out by 18 DYSPs and 14 Inspectors along with police personnel who carried the raid.
The education department has recently submitted a report to the CID stating that many more teachers have been recruited through illegal means.
Based on the report the CID formed special teams and conducted the raids .
The CID scam came to light following a complaint filed in Vidhana Soudha police station and Halasuru Gate police station in August and September this year.
Considering the ramification,the state government hand over the case to CID for a detailed probe.
The CID officials so far,arrested 22 persons including present directors and former joint directors of the education department along with 12 teachers who had secured jobs illegally and had been serving for many years now.
