tmost caution is important as divisive forces have crept into all the fields in society and every police constable who is involved in the repression of terrorism must be extra cautious,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after paying tributes in connection with police martyrs’ day here on Friday,he said Karnataka police has a rich history.

On many occasions,the cops have died on duty. The population is increasing in the society and both national and international destructive forces are trying to disturb peace in the society.

Laws are framed to check any crime after it takes place.But there is a need to think about any possible crime well in advance and enact law accordingly.

Bommai said the police personnel needed the sophisticated weapons.If senior police officers work efficiently it will automatically make lower-rung officers to follow their bosses.

The government and the society are respecting your good works but at the same time it is also duty of the government to consider the family members of the police personnel.

The role of police is very important in maintaining law and order in the society.

Facilities for the cops

The CM said Karnataka is ahead in providing facilities to the police than other states.The recruitment rate is high with the appointment of 4000-5000 police personnel every year.

The confidence of the cops must rise and the appointment must take place without corruption. The same thing is being followed by the incumbent government.

Introduction to new technology and cyber crimes must be part of police training.

Seperate command for police training

He said the construction of police stations have increasing the last one year.In the next one year, all the police stations must have their own buildings.

Police inspectors and Deputy superintendents of police require training for which it has been decided to create a seperate command.

The government proposes to do more reforms in the police department by having police museum, strengthening of ATS,increasing the number of jails to tell people about the sacrifice and achievements of police to the people.The government is always with the police personnel, he added.

Home Minister,Araga Jnanendra, Chief Secretary, Vandita Sharma,Additional Chief Secretary, (Home Department),Rajneesh Goel,DG&IGP Praveen Sood and Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, Pratap Reddy and others were present.
