CM Bommai happy over Governor’s assent for an ordinance to hike quota for SC/ST community

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressed his happiness over the Governor giving his assent for an ordinance promulgated by the state government to hike reservation for SC/ST community.

He said accepting the recommendations of Justice Nagamohan Das Commission,the State Cabinet had decided to promulgate an ordinance to hike reservation for SC/ST community in education and employment.

On Sunday,the governor signed the ordinance and it is a happy occasion.A special gazette notification was issued on Sunday.

Henceforth, the reservation for SC will go up from 15 per cent to 17 per cent and ST community quota will go up by 7 per cent from 3 percent.

By hiking reservations,the state government has exhibited its commitment.It is a Deepavali gift from the state government for SC/ST community.

Thanking the governor for giving assent to the ordinance, the CM said this ordinance will be approved in both the Houses of the State Legislature.
