Raghuram Rajan, former Governor of Reserve Bank of India, has expressed his serious concern about the country’s employment situation. He addressed the students at an event at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.There he said that India’s employment situation has reached an alarming level now. The government should immediately take appropriate action on the matter. As an economist, Rajan is known as a critic of the Modi government. He said at IIM Ahmedabad that India is the fifth largest economy in the world. Now this is the high time to concentrate more, and all focus should be given on employment generation. All the jobs that require more people should create such industries. Rajan said, keeping in mind the population of the country, we must build such industries or institutions where employment of many people is possible at the same time.
