Criticisms are pouring in that both of them, who are in charge of the most important and sensitive subdivisions as DSPs in Dr. Ambedkar’s Konaseema district, are acting as if their aim is to get the approval and praise of Vaikapa leaders. They stopped the farmers saying that they will be allowed to go for the padayatra only if they have identity cards. All party leaders alleged that Balachandra Reddy tore the identity cards that were shown. The farmers, who had announced a temporary break in the padayatra in protest against the police brutality, were sent away by the DSP warning them that they could not stay in Ramachandrapuram for a long time. Not only in the case of the Mahapadayatra, but in every aspect, there is severe criticism of him for not paying attention to the victims and giving a horn to the leaders of the ruling Vaikapa. Another DSP Madhavareddy working in the same district is often criticized for his controversial actions.
* Balachandra Reddy from Prodduthuru area of YSR district took charge as Ramachandrapuram DSP on November 17, 2020. Despite the reputation of having done some good work in the early days, since then they are facing criticism that they are behaving as if the words of the ruling Vaikapa leaders are the Vedas.
* Pragada Kalikrishna Bhagwan (20) of Mandapet committed suicide in March this year. Kalikrishna died of injuries at Marmangala after Mandapet town CI K. Durgaprasad severely beat him and the family members of the deceased started a large-scale agitation demanding action against him. In this case, without receiving the postmortem report, DSP Balachandra Reddy declared that there were no injuries on the body of the deceased and this was done to protect the CI. There was a lot of criticism for detaining Kalikrishna without registering a case and keeping him in the station for the whole day.
* Balachandra Reddy oppressed the farmers of Amaravati who were doing Mahapadayatra at every step.
* In the wake of the temporary break in the padayatra, the farmers kept the divine chariot of Lord Venkateswara in a private place in Ramachandrapuram. Mavuri Durgaprasad, Kola Chaitanya and Obbani Ramakoteswara Rao, who were guarding the chariot, complained to the police that Balachandra Reddy came there in plain clothes and beat them. After that, Balachandra Reddy also took two hard disks related to the CC cameras in the chariot. When the media asked him about this.. ‘Would we be happy if they beat us like widows?’ He asked the other side. His comments go without saying that the DSP beat up the chariot guards. Amaravati ICASA leaders are alleging that the police brutality on the march was recorded in the CCTV footage and the hard disks were taken away by the DSP to destroy it.
* Tippers, lorries and heavy vehicles are not allowed to enter Ramachandrapuram town during daytime. Due to the pressure of minister Venugopalakrishna and his followers, the police allowed the vehicles to pass through the narrow road of the town during the day. Road accidents happened in the town due to the passing of hundreds of heavy vehicles. The police not only harassed the reporters who questioned about this but also filed a case against a TV channel reporter.

* Y. Madhavareddy took charge as Amalapuram DSP on November 23, 2020. Although it worked well in the beginning, it is facing criticism that it has yielded to the pressure of the ruling party leaders and is doing what they are told.
* The police under the leadership of DSPs Madhav Reddy and Sheikh Masum Basha lathi-charged the youth who were peacefully protesting in Amalapuram regarding the name change of Konaseema district. This led to violent incidents. There are arguments that even if Madhava Reddy acted with any restraint, the situation would not lead to riots. Subbareddy, who was Konaseema SP during the riots, was transferred from there. Madhav Reddy is being continued in the same position. There are criticisms that Vaikapa leaders ensured that Madhava Reddy would not be transferred from there, saying that he would do whatever he was told.
* Police arrested 250 youths in connection with Amalapuram riots. There are criticisms that Vaikapa leaders and their followers have implicated the same people in the cases. There are criticisms that opposition party leaders, activists and sympathizers have been targeted and harassed.
* After the Amalapuram riots incident, an audio of Minister Pinipe Vishwarup’s son Krishna Reddy threatening to kill an MPTC member was widely circulated on social media. Gummalla Suresh, a rowdy sheeter and Vaikapa activist from Konkapally, released a video on social media threatening that ‘Police should also leave… they will burn the houses of the protesters and kill them’. Even though both of these came to the attention of the police, there were no cases.
* In Amalapuram, some rowdy sheeters are disturbing the peace and order.. There are allegations that Madhava Reddy is acting indifferently under the pressure of the main leader of the ruling party.
* Challapally panchayat secretary Rodda Bhavani from ST community committed suicide on July 7 this year. The Dalit communities and the victim’s family members are alleging that DSP Madhav Reddy gave in to the pressure of the ruling party leaders and dropped the name of Dangeti Rambabu, who is the main accused and a follower of Minister Pinipe Vishwarup. Moreover, Madhava Reddy harassed the victim’s family members in the name of investigation and criticized them. The victim’s family members appealed to the Chairman of the ST Commission to release him from the responsibility of investigating the case and hand it over to someone else. They have been protesting in front of the Collectorate for 58 days to take action against the accused.
* Some years ago, a young woman from Amalapuram town complained to Madhavareddy that Dhanush, the son of Srinivasa Rao, who was the Vaikapa Election Observer of Mummidivaram Constituency, had deceived her into believing that he would marry her. Police have not registered a case till now. Dhanush’s father minister Vishwaroop is the main follower and the case was not registered because he was a relative of another minister, Venugopalakrishna. There are criticisms that Madhav Reddy also helped Dhanush to go to London.
* On September 2 this year, on the occasion of Janasena President Pawan Kalyan’s birthday, it was controversial that when the party’s leaders and fans were cutting a cake on the main road of Tatipaka, Madhava Reddy beat them with a stick and threw the cake under it.
My wife’s suicide case was dismissed
My wife Rodda Bhavani committed suicide due to harassment by Vaikapa leaders. DSP Madhav Reddy sidelined the case saying that Bhavani committed suicide due to financial affairs. The case was dropped at the instigation of Vaikapa leaders. Dangeti Rambabu, husband of Uppalaguptam Vaikapa MP, harassed my wife saying that she held the panchayat meeting without listening to him. We were made to stand for hours outside his house for a few weeks and were verbally abused. Many panchayat secretaries said all these things but Madhav Reddy ignored them. Months pass and still no charge sheet has been filed.
