Car topples due to pothole in Yelahanka,Youth a student killed after head on collision by car

n another suspected case related to pothole accident,a 22-year-old student was killed and another sustained critical injuries when a speeding car driven in a rash and negligent manner overturned in a bid to avoid bad patch of road and collided head on with a motorcycle in Yelahanka new town on Saturday night .

The accident occurred on Attur main road near royal concord school at around 11 pm.The victims identified as Rahul,23 riding the bike along with his friend Harshad,riding pillion returning from Attur to Jalahalli.

The accused car driver soon after the accident abandoned the car and sped away.

Passers-by taken the duo to a near-by hospital
where the doctors declared Harshad as brought dead while Rahul has been shifted to another hospital for advance treatment .

Sreeraj Sreedharan,friend of the victims blamed the car driver and also the BBMP officials concerned for the accident.

Based on the complaint,the police charged the car driver and the BBMP officials concerned under section,279(Rash driving or riding on a public way),337,(Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and section 304a,(Causing death by negligence).

The police have seized the car and efforts are on to track down the driver who according to the police suspected to be under the influence of alcohol .

The accident was captured in a CCTV installed at a house near-by.Due to the impact of the accident both the the car and motorcycle were damaged .

Residents kept boulders and stones at the accident spot to avoid any eventualities.
