Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated in Unique way by Southeast Division police by setting up libraries at 3 stations as part of community outreach initiative

O n the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava,the Southeast division police,set up libraries at three police station as part of community outreach initiative.

Book racks containing hundred of books put up along with the chairs and desks at the entrance of every police station,antique furniture were selected to match the ambiance .

Noted personalities including national awardee, Radha Kulkarni,grand daughter of Huyilugolu Narayana Rao,who composed Udayavagali Cheluva Kannada Nadu,for Karnataka unification,and also author of many books,inaugurated the Koramangala library on Monday.

The library has a concept for the people by the police and to the police,CK Baba,DCP, Southeast, said,adding that many people have donated the books .

The idea of libraries at the station is an effort to reintroduce book reading culture to the people visiting the station.

Technology bombardment has taken away the joy of book reading and the library at the station will help to get back to the old habits.

This initiative is also helps the staff as reading books will be a good way to de-stress amidst hectic work.

It will also help our personnel pick up a reading habit,give them exposure or even improve their vocabulary, Mr. Baba said in his statement.

This is the fourth library inaugurated in their division so far and 10 more stations be covered soon.

Finally Home Minister of Karnataka,Araga Jnanendra,DG-IGP,Praveen Sood,has appreciated Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, CH Pratap Reddy,Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil, DCP, Southeast CK Baba ACPs,as,Pratap Reddy, Sudhakar AB, Lakshminarayan KC,and other staff for their excellent idea to start the libraries in 3 police station he added.
