The police issued noticed to 28 revenue officials for allegedly helped Ravikumar to carry out the survey to collect the data.
The police probing the source of the ID card issued to the ground level staff for conducting the door to door survey posing as Block level officers,found that the RO officials concerned,were aware of this and dint take any action.
Based on the outcome the police summoned the officials for questioning based on which action would be taken.
The police continue to search for another prime accused identified as Lokesh KM in voters data theft case .
Lokesh who worked as administrative officer at the Chilume trust was coordinating the survey work and helping the staff to provide necessary details and the ID card claiming to be block level officer carried the survery in some areas on the pretext of spreading awareness among voters,collected details of the voters such as name,mother tongue, gender,religion,caste,voter ID number,and Aadhaar number and uploaded the data in the app developed by the trust.
The police have registered two FIRs in Halasurugate and Kadugodi police arrested Dharanesh,Renuka Prasad,Kempegowda,and Ravi Kumar,the two brothers and directors of the trust and the software developer who developed the app ‘digital Sameeksha app’.
However Lokesh who is coordinating the field workers and issuing the Id cards with a signature and seal of the officials concerned.
Lokesh is on the run ever since the incident came to light.The police are now questioning Ravikumar to know the motive behind collecting the data and involvement of people behind the data theft.
The police are yet to recover the mobile phone of Ravikumar which police suspect that he had destroyed to conceal his contacts related to the case.
