External Affairs Ministry has said that India will assume the chairmanship of the Wassenaar arrangement on the 1st of next month.
Briefing media in New Delhi on Thursday, External Affairs Ministry’s Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, the Wassenaar arrangement is a multilateral export control regime wherein member states exchange information on various issues like transfer of conventional arms.
Mr. Bagchi said, India has also assumed the presidency of the United Nations Security Council on Thursday. He said, focus will be made on issues like multilateralism or counter-terrorism.
