he alert beat police of SJ Park station in a filmi style caught a drunk man carrying unaccounted 1.7 kgs of gold jewels and cash Rs.22 lakh in two bags on SP road on Tuesday night .
The beat police noticed the man walking in an inebriated state carrying two bags in a suspicious manner.The police confronted him to question.
But he started running and the police chased him for about a kilometer before pinning him down.
upon Checking the baggage they found the gold jewels and cash and brought him to the station for inquiry.
The suspect identified as Vinod,told the police that he was working for a gold shop in Chennai and had come to purchase the jewels on behalf of his employers and returning after shopping in gold shops in and around city market.
The accused however did not have any proof of his valuables following which the police summoned his employer for questioning and seized the gold and cash for further investigations.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP Central,Srinivas Gowda,ACP, Narayanaswamy V, PI, Sathish MR,and his whole team with alert beat constable who has nabbed the accused with unaccounted cash and gold ornaments and are investigating further to ascertain the network a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
