The Constitution has the solutions for the current challenges and the state government is doing the same, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to reporters after garlanding the statue of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar on his 66th death anniversary in Vidhana Soudha here on Tuesday,he said Dr Ambedkar had made the provision to make the necessary amendments in tune with the current situation, problems and challenges to make the Constitution more vibrant.
Because of this reason, the Constitution has been responding to the changing times.Dr Ambedkar showed how democracy can be successful to the entire world.
Despite many languages, caste and religions, the Constitution has held them all through emotions to make it as a United India and keeping democracy alive till date.
“It is very difficult to imagine what would have happened if there was no Constitution. The experiment of democracy has failed in many nations but it has been successful in India thanks to the Constitution gifted by Dr Ambedkar.
He not only included equality, unity, union system, brotherhood but also included humanity because Dr Ambedkar did not want others to face insult and pain that he faced.
Through the Constitution,Bharat Ratna Ambedkar has given protection to the oppressed classes and to bring them to the mainstream of the society. He had given a lot of importance to economic development and equality in the economy”, Bommai said
The CM said Dr Ambedkar with three slogans “Be Educated,Be Organised and Be Agitated” created awareness, educated them and gave the concept of agitation. It was their fortune that they have got the opportunity to work under the Constitution.
Everyone must vow to fulfill the aspirations of the Constitution.Mere talks will not ensure equality or social justice and it must become the subjects of speech.Dr Ambedkar had inculcated it in the Constitution.
The state government has chalked out several programs to bring in social equality through socially, economically, academically and through other angles.
We took the bold decision to hike the quota for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and provided Rs 29,000 crore for their upliftment.
