Two Hoysala patrolling staff suspended for harrasing a couple in late night and extorting Rs.1000 for walking after 11 PM in Sampigehalli

Two Hoysala patrolling staff attached to Sampigehalli police station has been suspended for harrassing and extorting Rs.1000 from couple who were on their way to home after finish a party near Manyata tech park.

The two police personnel identified as,Rajesh a Head constable and Nagesh a constable of Sampigehalli police station.

Senior officer told reporters,The Deputy Commissioner of Police,Northeast Division,Dr Anoop A Shetty on Sunday suspended a head constable and constable attached to Sampigehalli police station Hoysala patrolling duty for harassing a couple late in the night and extorting Rs.1,000 from them .

The incident went viral after the victim identified as Karthik Patri,put out a post narrating the ordeal prompting the DCP to probe the matter and suspend Head Constable Rajesh and Constable Nagesh,pending inquiry for further action.

The victim, Patri in his post on social media tagging the city police commissioner,alleged that the duo confronted the couple while they are walking home from a party near Manyata tech park and forced them to pay Rs.1,000 through payment app Paytm for ‘breaking the law’ by walking on the street near their home after 11 pm.

The policemen said that walking on the street in late hours was not allowed.The couple was walking home from a birthday cake-cutting event.

The policemen harassed the couple demanding ID cards and seized their phones and demanded that they should pay the penalty of Rs.3,000 or face legal action.

The two cops even showed him some criminals photo and threatened to file a case and after negotiating the two cops accepted Rs.1000 they even dint had such humanity a women was made to bring tears such inhuman behaviour we will not tolerate anymore said another senior officer.
