Farmer Leader and his team planning for black flag protest at G-Summit Venue in Devanahalli to stage protest detained by police

In a joint operation the Bengaluru City Police and Devanahalli police on Tuesday detained farmer leader Kurunuru Shanthkumar and his associates while they were heading to G Summit venue in Devanahalli to stage a protest.

Shanthkumar and his team were planning for a black flag protest to draw the attention of the state government to redress the farmers issue.

The State government should resolve the issue of sugarcane growers who are protesting since for the last 22 days,he said adding that the demand is also to cancel the Cibil score for crop loan and issue interest free loan for farmers and education loan to their children.

Heated argument ensued between police and the farmers when they were stopped at the Hebbal flyover in the afternoon from proceeding towards Devanahalli .

The farmers were agitated when the police did not give any reason about why they are stopped lead to heated arguments.

Later a senior police officer reached the spot and informed the group that they will be taken into custody under preventive detention.

The police later took the agitated farmers to KSRP grounds situated in Koramangala and on Mysuru road and released later.

Meanwhile another team of police detained the farmers protesting peacefully at freedom park . The farmers alleged that the government is misusing the police to contain their voice and rightful demands.
