The government has reduced the number of beneficiaries under the Jagjeevan Jyoti scheme, which provides up to 200 units per month to SCs and STs in the state. Under this scheme, 22.47 lakh connections are being benefited across the state. The government conducted a survey in the month of May to identify those who are ineligible. 3.93 lakh connections were found to be ineligible due to various reasons. 17.5 percent of the total beneficiaries were deprived of free electricity. And then bills are being issued for the electricity used by them every month. If those removed are really ineligible.. Govt actions cannot be faulted. But, as per the rules of Jagjeevan Jyoti Scheme, some people who are eligible have to pay the bill every month. It is understood that there is an error in the survey itself. When ‘Enadu’ inspected the Errabalem ST Colony of Mangalagiri mandal, some complained that the bills have been coming for five or six months and they don’t know why they have been given free electricity.
* Only his Aadhaar number should be connected to the electricity connection in the name of Okavya. But, due to the administration of the electricity department, the Aadhaar numbers of SCs and STs have been linked to the connections of others. Moreover, a single Aadhaar number is linked with three four connections. Due to mistakes in Aadhaar linking, genuine eligibles are missing out on government benefits. Beneficiaries who do not know about this matter are paying bills even though they use less than 200 units of electricity.
* Tokala Ramana Service No. 9211204006852 of Errabalem ST Colony. Even if 27 units were used in November, they gave a receipt to pay a bill of Rs.98. If you ask why he had to pay the bill even though he used less than 200 units.. Ramana’s Aadhaar number is connected to his connection and three others. He does not know this.
* 21 connections have been linked to the Aadhaar number of a person staying in a sheet shed in Mangalagiri Industrial Area. All these are related to an apartment in Kunchanapally.

Garika Venugopala Rao belongs to Mangalagiri Mandal ST Colony. Electricity connection number 9211204004017 is in his name. A bill of Rs.731 was billed for the use of 161 units. 177 in September, 142 in August and 153 in July, but the bill continues to come every month. Aadhaar number was not linked to his connection. Venugopal’s question is how they gave the connection without Aadhaar, the bill that did not come till 6 months ago.. Why is it coming now?
* There are about 100 houses in Errabalam ST Colony.. many of them are not getting free electricity. If the reasons are sought.. Many people’s Aadhaar cards are connected to the connections of houses in Kunchanapally. If other people’s connections are linked with the Aadhaar numbers of ST colonists…whose fault is it?
What did the government say..
As promised in the election manifesto, the Vaikapa government has given orders to increase the free electricity to SCs and STs to 200 units. This will benefit 2.82 lakh additional connections. 91 and 94 states that a list of beneficiaries should be prepared on the basis of beneficiary’s Aadhaar, mobile number, caste certificate (if verified by Meeseva Kendras and Discoms). But, after surveying, 3.43 lakh connections were deleted.
If one unit increases.. Rs. 945 bill?
This is a special tariff imposed by the government on barangays! A fan, two or three lights and a TV are common in a common man’s house. The monthly electricity consumption for such people is estimated to be between 150-170 units (depending on the time of consumption). If there is an increase, even if there is a delay of one or two days in the registration of meter reading, there is a possibility of crossing 200 units. For this reason, if the reading is recorded as 201 units, the bill due to one additional unit will increase to Rs.945. Unbelievably, the government regulations are the same. In Errabalam ST Colony, the bills of 10 connections whose monthly usage exceeded 200 units were examined while half were between 206-210 units. Maximum recorded reading.. 218 units. It is noteworthy that the bill to be paid is Rs. 965.

If you have the qualifications and the free electricity is not applicable, you should contact the concerned authorities. Aadhaar and caste certificates should be provided to them. We will examine them and find out where there is a mistake and correct it. In the survey conducted across the state, we identified the ineligible and provided free electricity only to them.
Here are the evidences
The transparency of the survey is questionable as some people get bills even though they are eligible for free electricity. Suspicions are being expressed that the government has removed the beneficiaries in the name of the survey. As the survey staff did not go to the houses of SCs and STs and collect details, many people do not know what happened.
* Srinivasa Rao’s service number is 9211204007123. After marriage, they are living separately in the same house. Even if the monthly electricity consumption is less than 200 units, they are paying the bill every month. The exemption does not apply to Srinivasa Rao as there is another connection in the name of his father Roshaiah. Subsidy is applicable for connections with different families in the same house. But, he got the bill in October as well.
* The house connection number of K. Rukmini belonging to Allapuram SC Colony, Gannavaram Mandal, Krishna District is 6511202000572. According to the reading recorded in October, she had to pay a bill of Rs.199 for the consumption of 51 units. Wapoyaram has been paying the bill for five months. He said that even if he applied to the authorities along with Aadhaar and caste certificate for applying free electricity, there was no result.
* Tokala Roshaiah’s house service number is 9211204001708. His wife Anjamma’s Aadhaar number is linked to someone else’s connections. The subsidy will not apply to her until they are removed. They got the bill in October as well.
