The Koramangala police in a span of 48 hours cracked the double murder case and arrested three persons including the cab driver for killing a security guard and Domestic help of his former employer to rob valuables in Koramangala 6th stage on Friday.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner CH Pratap Reddy held a press conference at his office and said that,The murder came to light when the owner of the house Gopala Reddy,a civil contractor by profession,and his family returned from Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh where they had gone to attend the marriage of their relative on Monday.
Domestic worker Kariyappa,55,and security guard Dil Bahadur,54,were found dead on Sunday with one of the bodies being found in the house on Monday morning by a cook and the second in a water sump before disconnecting the CCTV and took away the cash and valuables from the vault of the house.
The police team led by DCP,Southeast,CK Baba, rushed to the spot and analyzing the crime scene they suspected someone knew about the family and the locations inside the house might have committed the crime.
The team verified the CCTV and with the help of technical inputs and also questioned the driver of Reddy to found that he had shared the information about the family going out of town to the former driver.
Based on the tip off the police track down Jagadisha and arrested from Kunigal where he was hiding .
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and it was revealed that Jagadisha was sacked from the job two and half months ago after Reddy found him misusing the expensive car he was driving for the family.
When repeated warning did not mend his ways, Reddy sacked him and replaced him with a new driver.
Jagadisha who knew about the in and out of the house Kept in touch with the new driver and used to get information .
After getting to know that the family is out of town, Jagadisha roped in his associate Kiran and his brother Abhishek and hatched a plan.
As per the plan,the accused came to the house on the fateful day using the stolen vehicle and jumped the compound from the backside to gain entry.
They waited outside the house and when Kariappa came to the backside they pounced on him strangulated him to death and carried his body inside the house before attacking the security guard and dumping him body in sump.The trio escaped in an autorikshaw along with the booty.
City police commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy, appreciated Addl CP East,Dr A Subramanyeswara Rao,DCP Southeast,CK Baba,ACP,Lakshminarayan KC,PI,Nataraj DN,PSI,Arun Kumar,and crime staff as,Ravindra Kumar, Jayprakash,Gurupadh,Chandrashekhar, Venkatesh,Smt.Jagadishwari,and Abhijit and other officers and staff part of the five special teams has been appreciated for the exemplary and meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing the accused and cracking the case in record time and recovering the valuables a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
