Engineer student arrested for making hoax bomb threat to KIA

The Airport police on Thursday arrested a 20-year-old engineering student for tweeting on the Airport account threatened to bomb Kempegowda international airport on December 10 .

Based on the complaint the police track down the accused from his tweet account and arrested.

The accused has been identified as Vaibhav Ganesh,20,a resident of Kudlu gate.

Senior officer told reporters,Vaibhav was pursuing B Tech course from Punjab and facing difficult to commute from airport to his house whenever he visited his parents.Frustrated by this he had vent his ire through the tweet.

Since it was bailable case,we have questioned him and issued notice to appear again and let him go,a police officer,said.

Though the police and the security officials knew that it was a hoax call,they carried the SOP drill and checks in and around the airport for many hours .

Police have launched an investigation into an unidentified Twitter user’s post that threatened to bomb at Kempegowda International Airport so that a New airport could be built closer to the city,the accused had tweeted.
