*Covid control measures are purely scientific,not political
When compared to the total population of the Vokkaliga community,the reservation given to them in education and employment is less.Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said that a request has been made to the Chief Minister for increasing the reservation.
Speaking to the reporters,Minister Sudhakar said that compared to the population of the Vokkaliga community,the reservation given in the education and employment is not sufficient.
Most of the Vokkaligas are farmers and are contributing immensely to the country. A request has been submitted to the Chief Minister to take action to increase the reservation.
Community is not putting any pressure nor it is asking for unreasonable reservation, but is only requesting to hike reservation proportionate to the population.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai understands the needs of all communities.He said that he will ensure social justice to all deprived communities.
The increase in reservation for SC and ST communities has been under discussion for many years. But only the Chief Minister has taken steps to realize it,he said.
The Supreme Court hearing regarding the increase in reservation is still going on.We are confident that the court will give a positive verdict.
As per the wish of Dr BR Ambedkar,the government is working on the path of equality and equity for all. He said that the government will recognize all legitimate demands of all communities.
Covid guidelines are not political
Actions taken to control Covid are based on scientific evidence, not political reasons.JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy has been on a yatra for many days.Rahul Gandhi has been on a yatra for more than a hundred days.
However,the government has not talked about covid these days.We are now tasking measures to control Covid to protect the health of the people as cases are increasing in other countries like China and Korea.
Minister Sudhakar said that Covid has come under control only due to the prudent administration and timely policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Yatras of Congress,JD(S) are just like any other political campaigns.It will not have any impact on people’s minds.Kumaraswamy of JDS is doing yatra in Old Mysore areas and as they are non-existent in other parts of the state.
Covid vaccines have been administered at record levels.We have successfully completed 100% vaccination of two doses in the state.
But I urge everyone to also get the third dose of the vaccine. The nasal vaccine would be very effective to ensure that all the children are vaccinated, Minister Sudhakar said.
