Karnataka State Contractors’ Association president Kempanna among four arrested by Vyyalikaval police after failing to appear before court

The Vyyalikaval police on Saturday arrested contractors Association president Kempanna and four others in a defamation case filed by horticulture Minister Munirathna.

Kempanna kicked the storm after he made public announcement about government corrupt practice and commission..

While the entire ruling party members refuted allegations chief minister said that kempanna is siding with opposition to defame the government.

Muniratna filed a private complaint against him before the 8th ACMM and got the non Bailable warrant executed against him.

The police have carried about the NBW and arrested him.

In July 2021,the president of the Karnataka State Contractors’ Association,D Kempanna,wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging large-scale corruption in the award and implementation of civil contracts in Karnataka.

He alleged that contractors were being forced to pay a 40 per cent commission to officials in the BJP government,cutting across departments,for projects.

Local registered contractors of our state have to pay to the extent of 25 to 30% of the tender amount before starting the works.
