The Mico Layout police on Saturday arrested a gang of three and recovered 35 mobile phones worth Rs.8.5 lakh which they have robbed from different people in and around the Southeast Division for many months.
Senior officer told reporters,The accused had snatched a i-phone from Sujith S,a city based software engineer while he was booking ola cab on roadside to go home at Bilekahalli bus stand on December 28.
The accused approached him in a scooter and sped away after snatching his mobile phone before he could react.
Based on the complaint, the mico layout police analysed as many as 90 CCTV footage from in and around the scene of crime and with the help of mobile tracker system identified the accused and arrested them.
The accused are habitual offenders and part of four members gang operating in and around the city, a officer,said .
The Mico Layout police are now on the lookout for the fourth accused who is on the run.
