Rs.500 crore for Tumakuru Smart City project-CM Bommai

Dr.Thomas (Special Correspondent)

The Government of India has released Rs.500 crore towards Tumakuru Smart City Project, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Addressing a public meeting here on Friday,he said the Central Government has consented to give Rs. 1,000 crore to build a 6,000 km national highway in the state as well as Rail Under Bridges and Rail Over Bridges.

Under the Raitha Sanman scheme,Rs.9500 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of farmers.

The Ayushman Bharath Scheme has been extended to one crore people and opened a sufficient number of Jan Aushad centers.

The welfare programs speak volumes about the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Modi government has approved Tumakuru, Shira, Chitradurga, and Davangere rail projects.

This is due to the double-engine government.Funds have been released to pay crop input subsidies to farmers and for the improvement of ports.

Facelift for Shira

He said Shira is a drought-prone taluk and the previous CM, B.S.Yediyurappa had formulated a scheme to fill up tanks in the taluk from Mudaluru and Upper Bhadra projects.

The work was launched by Yediyurappa. It will be a big lie if anybody claims of giving water to this taluk.

The Government of India was briefed about the water problems in this region and got the approval to fill up tanks from two other sources. But they could not fill up the Madalur tank. But during the bye-election, the then CM Yediyurappa as promised, filled up the Madalur tank.

State’s clear picture not given

Bommai said Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah has questioned the contributions of PM Narendra Modi and compared him to a puppy,Modi is a true democratic given full autonomy to states and a firm believer in the democratic system.

He has given several schemes to Karnataka. Siddaramaiah, while he was the CM, failed to explain correctly the state’s projects and requirements before the 15th Finance Commission because of which the grants had been reduced.

We need to take the classes from Siddaramaiah who stands before Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi with folded hands.

Modi has been a ‘Kamadhenu’ giving everything without asking anything. The people have the magic wand to make a tiger or a mouse, and they will make the Congress Party a tiger or a mouse”.

BJP National President J.P.Nadda, former CM Yediyurappa, State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP National General Secretary & In-Charge of Karnataka Arun Singh,BJP National General Secretary C.T.Ravi and several ministers were present.
