A 21-year-old student was killed while his friend riding pillion injured when a speeding goods vehicle knocked them down at Doddabele junction on NICE Road in Kengeri on Friday afternoon.
The deceased Saritha,studying first year Bcom had gone to a temple with friend Anitha and returning home on scooter when the accident occurred.
The Goods vehicle knocked their scooter near Doddabele junction as a result Anitha slipped and fell on safe side while Saritha riding the scooter was dragged for few meters along with the scooter and critically wounded.
The duo was rushed to a ESI hospital where Saritha was declared dead while Anitha is being treated.
The Kengeri traffic police have registered a case of death due to negligence and rash and negligence against the driver and are investigating.
