Software Engineer and Family had narrow escape after barricade put up at metro construction site crashed on passing car at Doddanekundi junction

Close to the heel of an under-construction Metro pillar collapsed in Bengaluru’s Nagavara on Tuesday morning,killing a mother and her two-and-a-half year old son, a 33-year-old software engineer and his family had a narrow escape after a barricade put up the metro construction site falls on a passing car at Doddanekundi jn towards Mahadevapura on outer ring road on Saturday.

The incident occurred at around 3.30 pm when car owner identified as Santosh Kumar resident of Junnasandra was going home with his family members .

While the car passing karthiknagar towards KR Puram the barricade crashed on the car due to wind damaging the front portion.However the occupants of the car were safe but under shock.

It was a narrow escape for other two-wheeeler riders and pedestrians as it did not crashed on them leading to fatal accident,a senior officer at the spot said.

The Metro officials soon rushed to the spot and conducted inspection and convinced Santosh Kumar not to file a complaint and assure to bear the damage expenses .

The incident once again highlight the negligence on part of the metro officials at the construction site.
