In addition to this, differences of opinion emerged in NATO when Germany said that they would also give Leopard-2s to Kiev only if America sent tanks. In this background, the internal pressure on the American government increased. “If Germany is stipulating that it will send Leopard-2s to Ukraine only if we give our Abrams tanks, then we have to send Abrams,” commented Democratic Party Senator Chris Coons. At least 16 countries in NATO and Europe are using Leopard tanks.
